XANTHA Internal Frame Backpack
The XANTHA Internal Frame Backpack by Maxpedition is a sturdy yet light - at only 3.7 pounds - backpack designed for hikers, climbers and all-'round long-trekkers. This pack is constructed around a (removable) polypropylene frame with a single aluminum stay and a Hypalon-reinforced bottom. The back is designed with egg-crate pattern padding to help wick away moisture and a removable waist strap helps to redistribute heavy loads.
There are compartments aplenty aboard this back-based buddy and sturdy button locks to secure the zippers. There's a soft-lined sunglasses pouch on top, a 100 oz. hydration bladder (with drinking tube ports on both sides), mesh pockets, nylon ropes for bedrolls (and compressing the backpack), a water bottle holder )holds 32 oz. wide-mouth bottles), tall zippered pockets on the side and a heavy duty grab handle to help you get started.
Cleaning is a breeze as the pack's 1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant light-weight ballistic nylon fabric is treated with Teflon, so all you need to do is wipe and wait. To keep it comfy and in place it has 2.5-inch adjustable and padded shoulder straps with five channels of PALS, 1-inch D-ring and two 2-inch webbing loops on each strap. There's also a 3/40inch sternum strap with elastic shock cord. All the stress points have been double stitched, bartacked or "Box-and-X" stitched for added strength.
