Handkerchiefs, Men used to always carry a handkerchief on him. I can still remember my Grand-Dads and my Dad never leaving home without a washed and pressed handkerchief on them. As a boy I watched my Grand-Dad take his out to not only clean his nose, but his glasses, and wet it to with cool water to wipe his brow.
Men used to buy them by the dozen. or Wives for their husbands. Often Sweethearts would hand make and embroider words of love on them for their men at war. or for their man.
Today, more than ever men should always have a handkerchief on him. it's environmental, and cuts out all fo these paper tissues that are thrown out daily, or worst yet, left of the grown.
I have carried a handkerchief most of my life. From my days in the Army, when it was a part of the uniform. And used to clean everything from my Binoculars too Scopes. Along with wiping off my brow and helping to clean away camouflage face paint.
I have brought back the handkerchief. My version of it. But with materials I've sorted myself, and hand made on my sewing machine.
